Job Description

Job Summary:

Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA is seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Answer, report, and follow management instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Refers and follows daily prep list
  • Ensures all designated equipment and work areas are properly cleaned, fully operational, and in proper working condition, prior to shift
  • Informs Executive Chef or direct supervisor immediately of faulty equipment or product shortages
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and members

Requirements:

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Organize and participate in all cleaning and sanitizing procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry's best practices
  • Culinary school diploma

Physical Requirements:

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
