Oregon, Illinois, United States A-dec Full time

At A-dec, we are committed to not only providing the highest quality products and services for the dental sector but also ensuring a rewarding employment experience for all our team members.

Our environment fosters personal growth and development, making a career at A-dec truly fulfilling.

Position Overview: This role involves executing both standard and semi-standard assembly tasks, which encompass sub-assemblies, assembling components of the final product, and certain aspects of final assembly. This is the crucial manufacturing stage where parts/products are inspected for quality and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will work independently, guided by work instructions, to perform routine subassembly tasks such as assembling valves, switches, and control mechanisms.

They will also undertake semi-routine assembly tasks, including electrical assembly in chairs and furniture, pressing and reaming operations, or any other designated routine sub-assembly.

Regular operation of production equipment, power tools, and certain testing equipment is expected while adhering to quality and productivity standards and following safety protocols.

Following work instructions diligently, the incumbent may be required to interpret the results of specific testing procedures and troubleshoot or repair parts as necessary, escalating complex issues to the Supervisor.

At this level, the individual is in the process of mastering the assembly of an entire product or line and may provide training to less experienced Assemblers.

They must maintain a dependable work ethic, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure no risk is posed to themselves or others.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, demonstrating a capacity to follow both written and verbal instructions, troubleshoot issues as needed, and accurately identify color codes on tubing and electrical wiring.

Basic computer skills are also required.
Mathematical proficiency in basic calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions, along with the ability to read a ruler effectively, is essential.
General assembly knowledge and manual dexterity are required.
Capability to interpret method sheets, bills of materials, samples, and production orders, as well as proficiency in operating necessary hand tools, is crucial.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior relevant experience and familiarity with A-dec product lines are advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds routinely, with or without assistance.

Manual dexterity is necessary for grasping and operating tools and equipment repetitively. The individual should be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout their shift.

Some work areas may expose the individual to chemicals, noise, vibration, and/or dust, necessitating the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and foot protection.
