As a member of the CPU Silicon Validation Team, you will play a crucial role in the process of validating and bringing up custom CPUs. This position is integral to ensuring the successful transition from initial silicon to market-ready products.

The primary mission of the CPU Silicon Validation Team is to facilitate the validation of every System on Chip (SoC) that incorporates our Custom CPUs, ensuring that all aspects are thoroughly tested and verified.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with CPU design and verification teams to create comprehensive validation and bring-up test plans.
  • Prepare for CPU validation by engaging in preliminary work on emulation and FPGA platforms.
  • Coordinate with SoC bring-up teams and software engineers to strategize CPU validation processes.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues encountered during silicon validation.
  • Develop testing content and methodologies to support the validation of CPUs on silicon.
  • Work alongside CPU verification teams to replicate silicon failures on emulators and FPGAs.
  • Engage with design teams to propose and architect new debugging features aimed at enhancing future CPU validation efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Hardware Engineering.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in the same fields with at least 5 years of experience, or a PhD with a minimum of 4 years of experience.

Essential Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with over 5 years of experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Silicon Validation and bring-up.
  • Proficiency in implementing assembly and C/C++ embedded firmware.
  • Familiarity with software toolchains, including assemblers, C compilers, Makefiles, and version control systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth understanding of microprocessor architecture.
  • Knowledge of power management and physical design principles.
  • Experience in the validation and bring-up of CPU features.
  • Expertise in debugging functional, power, performance, and physical design issues in silicon.
  • Experience in CPU design and verification.
  • Skills in developing tests for the validation of CPU features on silicon.
  • Experience in creating test vectors for tester validation.
