San Francisco, United States Stripe Full time
Who we are
About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies-from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups-use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team

Stripe's infrastructure powers businesses all over the world. We process payments, run marketplaces, detect fraud, help entrepreneurs start an internet business from anywhere in the world, build world-class developer-friendly APIs, and more. Revenue Foundations provides a central entry point for Stripe products to monetize in global markets. It is ultimately responsible for the systems, programs, and operations that generate Stripe's revenue and the economic models we have with our customers. This is accomplished through a sophisticated pricing onboarding tooling and workflow management, unified billing engine, and custom solutions for our largest enterprise users.

Our work is core to Stripe's business. We sit at the intersection of product, sales, engineering, finance, and operations, acting as the connective tissue that ensures users have a frictionless billing experience with Stripe.
What you'll do

Every record in our data warehouse is vitally important for the businesses that use Stripe, so we're looking for people with a strong background in business and analytics to help us scale while maintaining correct and complete data. You'll be working with a variety of internal teams across Sales, Engineering, Finance, Product, and Accounting to ensure data completeness, billing reliability, and build product requirements. Your work will directly improve Stripe user experience by ensuring billing accuracy allowing Stripe to scale new commercial models.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across the company, including engineering, product, accounting, finance, sales, operations, to calculate the Stripe fees for the customers, often the largest, most complex, and strategic deals.
  • Become a domain expert on Stripe's business economics, and consult others (e.g. sales and products) on questions like user billing capabilities and pricing structure support.
  • Introduce data and process efficiencies (such as setting up relevant metrics) to meet the scale and speed of Stripe.
  • Identify and automate operational processes to increase operational efficiency.
  • Scale our User Billing operation by driving the design, documentation, and training of operational processes and domain knowledge.
Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, Operations Engineering, or Data Engineering Role, with a focus on writing complex SQL to query relational databases
  • A strong business and technical background with an interest in growth, product, data, and scaling challenges
  • An inquisitive nature in diving into data inconsistencies to pinpoint issues, and resolve deep rooted data quality issues
  • Knowledge of a scientific computing language (such as Scala or Python) and SQL
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate, prioritize, and identify the root cause of non-trivial issues
  • Experience managing communications and workflows with technical and non-technical teams across internal and external stakeholders (including external vendors)
  • Comfortable operating independently and thriving in a fast-paced, results-focused environment, with an ability to establish priorities and reliably execute against time-sensitive deadlines
  • Experience managing multiple, concurrent work streams, keeping them on track, defining metrics, and reporting on them crisply
Preferred Qualifications
  • A background in payments and financial technology
