Job purpose:

Develop and write, with the assistance of the appropriate program staff, behavioral programs for individuals served and provide ongoing training to staff in the areas of programming strategies, behavior plan development, intervention techniques, data collection, report writing and crisis intervention strategies (PMT).

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical assistance to all departments within The Kennedy CollectiveSM to include all Residential Facility
  • Programs, Children’s Division, DMHAS, Supported Employment and the Community Experience Programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and matrix supervision to case managers and coordinators to assure and reinforce active treatment approaches.
  • Receive direct supervision from the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Develop schedule to observe and consult in Residential and Community Experience settings.
  • Facilitate team development of behavior programs.
  • In cooperation with supervisor monitor individual programs to ensure delivery of quality programming.
  • Assist in the accurate documentation and follow up to behavioral reports and records.
  • Participate as a member of the Behavior Review Committee.
  • Develop and present DDS Program Review Committee presentations.
  • Provide training to direct care staff in implementing behavioral techniques and programming and both in writing behavior reports and collecting data.
  • Become a Certified PMT Instructor and teach PMT trainings throughout agency.
  • Facilitate group consensus towards behavioral plan development.
  • Access internet for research and new behavioral trends.
  • Provide training to case managers in developing and writing behavior plans.
  • Develop, organize and write comprehensive and articulate behavioral support plans.
  • Act as primary liaison to area school systems, funding sources, psychiatrists, psychologists and other rehabilitation behaviorists.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences, Special Education or related field required.
  • BCaBA or Master’s Degree in Behavioral Analysis with on track for BCBA status preferred.
  • Two years of experience with Children’s Behavioral Health Services and/or persons with autism preferred.
  • Two years of experience writing behavioral programs for persons with disabilities.
  • Efficient and skilled in Microsoft Office and the internet.
  • Valid Driver’s License and must maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • You are required to be in possession of a car on site during your entire shift to transport yourself and/or individuals served to community sites in all weather conditions and throughout all neighborhoods.
  • Depending upon assignment, must be able to work in a variety of settings, weather conditions and locations.
  • Must maintain PMT and CPR certification.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Have physical endurance to use physical crisis intervention techniques which may include restraining individuals.
  • Communicate clearly and articulately in oral and written form on a constant basis.
Physical Requirements:
  • Move weights up to 5 lbs. on a constant basis and 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.
