Water Resources Staff Engineer 

You will join our Water Resources Team

As our new Water Resources Staff Engineer, you will join a team dedicated to working with clients to deliver a wide range of water-related projects, from preliminary studies through facility planning.  You will work alongside our engineers, scientists, and resiliency planners, including collaborating with our climate team, water/wastewater team, and global team of experienced professionals to develop solutions to help urban and rural communities address the impacts of climate change and sustainable solutions.   

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Perform studies involving water supply, water infrastructure master planning, water footprint evaluations, drought and flood planning, water resilience and risk evaluations, source protection, and water supply permitting. 
  • Perform water alternatives analyses using evaluations such as reliability, water quality, ease of implementation, and cost.  
  • Work under the guidance and mentorship of senior engineers and scientists.
  • Prepare technical work documents and products.
  • Assemble, review, and analyze field data including water quality data, streamflow data, groundwater systems, and other field data.
  • Prepare concept drawings and concept-level construction cost estimates.
  • Perform field assignments including site visits, field testing, pilot testing, and sample collection.
  • Enjoy and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented project delivery setting.

  • BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
  • EIT or ability to obtain PE within 4 years.

In addition to the base requirements above, having any of the following skill sets and/or experience is a plus:

  • Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) or experience developing sustainability plans
  • Experience working with local utilities and municipalities
  • Experience working with state and federal agencies
  • Familiarity with surface water supplies, groundwater/aquifers, and/or aquatic ecosystems
  • Involvement with professional affiliations such as American Water Works Association, American Water Resources Association, US Water Alliance, Engineers Without Borders, or others.
