Summary
As Technology Support Specialist II, you will be reporting to IT Manager - WMS, EDI and Integrations. The Technology Support Specialist II has an essential role on the Information Technology team responsible for procuring and tracking IT assets (both new and spare), configuring some assets, and assisting with support where needed. Another significant area of responsibility is coordinating with IT Infrastructure vendors, including Managed Service Providers (MSP), Wiring vendors, Security Vendors, and Telecommunication vendors. They will be responsible for coordinating the installation of infrastructure at new warehouse startups and ensuring MSP addresses any outstanding support issues along the way. The position will also research new applications or hardware that might be advantageous to Wagner Logistics. This position serves as a member of the Wagner Logistics IT team and shall uphold and comply with the company's policies, standards, and attitudes, and shall follow the guiding principles of Best Practices, leveraging process improvement and fostering cultural change, where appropriate.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for procuring all new hardware by working with Wagner's preferred vendors and helping to establish new preferred vendors
  • Responsible for tracking, stocking, and disposal of all new and spare equipment and understanding when and what equipment may need to be replaced
  • Responsible for coordinating infrastructure needs with vendors for new warehouse locations
  • Assist in establishing hardware standards throughout the organization
  • Responsible for coordinating with IT Infrastructure vendors to ensure expectations are being met
  • Serves as Liaison with Managed Services Provider (MSP)
  • Handle situations that may require extensive research according to the customer's need
  • Capable of preparing quotes and proposals for hardware
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures and Infrastructure Policies
  • Play an active role in developing documentation and drawings for new and existing facilities
  • Assist with help desk functions and infrastructure support, handling escalating issues, answering calls, and resolving various technical issues as needed.
  • Monitor vendor sites regularly and stay updated with new industry trends by attending conferences and meetings with vendors
  • Research and stay abreast of new hardware or software that might be used in current or future locations
  • Ability to travel as needed to locations for startup
  • Other projects or tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field or 3-5 years relevant experience is preferred
  • Proficient level of experience with or knowledge of a hardware support, vendor management, networking and IT infrastructure support
  • Experience with any of the following products/areas is a plus
    • Meraki, Ubiquiti, Lenovo, Networking and networking protocols, such as TCP/IP and DHCP
  • Ability to demonstrate competent IT literacy around hardware and vendor management
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities at once
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience developing technical documentation and training end users.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to break down a problem, recognize the root cause of the problem, and identify how technology can resolve the problem.
  • Specialist knowledge of technical infrastructure and a good understanding of operating systems, computers, and networking
  • Ability to independently manage multiple small/medium sized projects or tasks and implement them in a timely manner and within budget
  • Ability to assist with on-call rotation
  • Availability for occasional travel to attend training, assist with start-ups, etc.
