In conjunction with the VP of Portfolio Management, develops a strategic plan to maximize the distribution and marketing of the suppliers in their portfolio. Provides data and analysis to VP of Portfolio Management on a regular basis to include possible new items, discontinued items and correct inventory levels.

Territory Manager Job Responsibilities:

The Territory Manager's main goal is to promote the use of Winebow Imports division's portfolio throughout their assigned market.

Territory Manager Job Duties:

  1. Managing and achieving sales and distribution goals throughout assigned territory.
  2. Devoting 80% of time to sales and market activities, working with distributor sales reps, sales managers and calling on key accounts.
  3. Ensuring new distribution within a targeted account base both on and off premise.
  4. Working independently in the market, building on established account business while creating new relationships.
  5. Identifying competitive activity and market needs to better service our customers.
  6. Working certain nights per week and some weekends, visiting on premise accounts, hosting events and participating in tastings.
  7. Providing the Regional Manager and wholesale management with updates on sales accomplishments and activities.
  8. Assisting the Regional Manager in building, executing and reviewing quarterly programs.
  9. Conducting wine education seminars, sales meetings and portfolio tastings for distributor sales forces, members of the trade and consumers.
  10. Managing producer visits in the market and recapping these visits in a timely manner.
  11. Using the Diver application to review account sales and distribution activity, with a key focus on Performance to Goal depletions.
  12. Interacting on a professional basis with wholesalers and Imports team members within defined area of responsibilities.
  13. Participating in and completing the education requirements provided by Winebow Imports.
  14. Meets agreed upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.
  15. Arrives at work, appointments, meetings, and all work-related functions on time and as scheduled.


Territory Manager Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a salesperson/manager for a wholesale distributor or a Supplier and working with an Imports Portfolio.
  • Superior knowledge of on and off premise accounts in their territory.
  • Above average computer skills to include Microsoft Office and Diver application as well as other applicable computer programs.
  • Strong writing/communication skills and ability to complete administrative requirements in a timely manner.
  • Exceptional organization skills to coordinate supplier/brand manager market visits, brand blitzes and events that are vehicles for high-end fine wine sales.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
