SUMMARY

The Foster Care Case Aide assists in providing services to foster care clients and family members and is utilized as a support to Foster Care Case Managers and the Program Manager.

This position requires a current valid driver's license. The Foster Care Case Aide must be ready, willing and able to drive clients and family members for appointments and visits when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Transports foster care children or other clients for medical appointments, visits or other scheduled appointments.
  • Supervises sibling, parent/child or other visits.
  • Documents all contact with clients by completing case notes and/or visitation records.
  • Reports any child abuse or neglect to supervisor; informs Foster Care Nurse of any change or concern in the medical condition or care of any child.
  • Assists Program Manager and Licensing and Recruitment Coordinator with training and recruitment efforts.
  • Completes program errands as needed, including dropping off or picking up files, checks and infant equipment and clothing.
  • Assists Foster Care Case Managers with filing, copying and case record management.
  • Relieves Receptionists at agency locations when necessary.
  • Participates in Children's Place quality assurance initiatives as needed and appropriate to improve service quality and ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation and contractual standards.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to meet new funding requirements or as assigned by the Program Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a valid Illinois driver's license and appropriate auto insurance.
  • Completion of some college level coursework and/or experience working with children and families preferred.
  • Certifications in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal communication skills preferred.
