PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role reports directly to the Vice President of Foster Care Services and encompasses a dual function, focusing on both intake processes and permanency planning for individuals transitioning out of the program. The Supervisor oversees all aspects of referral, intake, and placement operations within the Foster Care Programs, which include Home of Relative (HMR), Specialized Foster Care (Spec), and Adolescent Foster Care (AFC). This position is crucial in managing relationships with referral sources and placement alternatives, ensuring that suitable foster care environments are available for youth entering the system. Additionally, the Supervisor plays a key role in managing exits through effective permanency planning.
KEY DUTIES
- Evaluates and disseminates written referral packets and supporting documentation necessary for permanency, including psychological evaluations, medical records, progress reports, and case reviews, to relevant staff members.
- Organizes interviews and appointments, collaborating with unit and clinical personnel regarding prospective and current client referrals.
- Facilitates weekly meetings focused on intake and permanency with Foster Care staff to enhance communication and ensure a smooth transition for youth entering and exiting the foster care system.
- Keeps comprehensive records of intake and discharge activities; composes summary reports and prepares statistical data as required.
- Actively participates in the planning and delivery of training sessions related to the specific area of expertise and the needs of the program.
- Coordinates with casework staff to prepare essential documentation for subsidy completion, including investigatory reports and subsidy forms.
- Ensures outstanding customer service by providing timely responses to inquiries via various communication channels.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in a human services discipline, preferably in social work, along with a relevant combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of three years of experience in the child welfare sector, with prior intake and placement experience preferred.
- Possession of Child Welfare Employee Licensure is required.
- Must meet Foster Care Licensing standards within the specified timeframe of employment.
- Proficient in utilizing computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- A valid driver's license, state-required auto insurance, and a clean driving record are mandatory. A personal vehicle is necessary.
- No history of child abuse or neglect.
This position is classified as Exempt under FLSA regulations.
