Position Summary:
The Foster Care Support Specialist is responsible for delivering case management services to children and families involved in various foster care programs, including regular, specialized, or home-of-relative placements. The primary objective is to address the environmental and psychosocial needs of clients while developing a sustainable living plan for each child.
Incentive: A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available for licensed candidates upon hiring, contingent upon the completion of all necessary DCFS examinations and certifications, including the DCFS Child Welfare Licensure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular home visits, with a frequency determined by program requirements.
- Facilitate and oversee interactions between children and their biological parents.
- Provide transportation for children to visit their biological parents as needed.
- Prepare, maintain, and present case documentation and reports, and testify in court when required.
- Evaluate the strengths and needs of both birth parents and children.
- Connect clients with appropriate services and monitor their progress.
- Perform data entry in client management systems.
- Collaborate with supervisors to review cases and determine the best course of action.
- May involve recruiting, assessing, and licensing foster homes.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to prioritize the best interests of the child and family.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of all DCFS mandated examinations and certifications, including the DCFS Child Welfare Licensure.
- Preferred experience of at least 1 year in a relevant field.
- Possession of a valid driver's license, access to an insured vehicle, and a satisfactory driving record.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
Additional Requirements: A clean driving record and willingness to travel are essential. This role necessitates travel to various locations, including court appearances and home visits.

Salary Range for Master's Degree: $54,550-$66,550.
