Primary Role:

The Data Analyst/Business Intelligence Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the Chief Communications Officer by providing data-driven insights through data mining, visualization, and analysis. This position requires expertise in using Excel, Microsoft PowerBI, and other relevant tools to transform data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Data Mining and Collection:

  • Extract and gather data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Clean and prepare data for analysis, identifying trends and patterns.
Data Analysis:
  • Perform detailed data analysis to support business decisions.
  • Utilize statistical techniques to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics.
Data Visualization:
  • Create compelling, clear, and accurate data visualizations using Microsoft PowerBI, Excel, and other visualization tools.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to communicate findings and insights effectively to the Chief Communications Officer and other stakeholders.
Business Intelligence:
  • Develop and maintain BI solutions to provide insights that help improve decision-making processes.
  • Monitor and maintain BI models and systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and performing optimally.
Reporting:
  • Prepare and present reports that translate complex data into easy-to-understand information.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and provide tailored reporting solutions.
Collaboration and Support:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support their data analysis and reporting needs.
  • Provide training and support to team members on data tools and methodologies.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field. Proven experience with data visualization tools (Microsoft PowerBI, Excel) and other relevant software.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI, Excel, and other data analysis tools. Strong understanding of database management, SQL, and data warehousing concepts. Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Other Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the publishing or communications industry.
  • Familiarity with other data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Google Data Studio, etc.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.

Salary:

Competitive salary based on previous work experience, education, acquired skills, and established relationships. Salary commensurate with current standards for comparable positions and responsibilities within publishing and other leading not-for-profit ministries. Compensation is reviewed and evaluated annually by the Executive Compensation Committee (ECC) of the Crossway Board of Directors.
