WHAT DOES A BSA COMPLIANCE ANALYST DO?

As a BSA Compliance Analyst at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, you will be at the forefront of developing, implementing, and maintaining our Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti Money Laundering (AML) Program. Your role will involve rigorous transaction monitoring, conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) checks, and implementing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews. Embrace the challenge of identifying, reviewing, and investigating alerts and cases, as well as evaluating the risk associated with our members, transactions, and product offerings.

Additionally, you will contribute to the timely filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs). Be a key player in ensuring our compliance with changing laws and regulations, serving as a liaison with external audit firms and regulatory agencies. REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS BSA COMPLIANCE ANALYST JOB

To excel as a BSA Compliance Analyst, you must possess a comprehensive skill set tailored to the complex regulatory landscape of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti Money Laundering (AML) compliance. Your proficiency in coordinating and overseeing an effective compliance program, developing monitoring systems, and administering MRB/Cannabis programs will be essential. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, establishing risk ratings, and serving as a subject matter expert in BSA/AML activities. Additionally, your ability to analyze transaction monitoring reports, perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews, and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures is crucial.

Stay updated on changing industry trends and regulations, advise stakeholders on emerging risks, and implement controls to mitigate potential threats. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to upholding compliance standards will be key in contributing to the success of our operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of related experience in financial institutions.
  • A college degree preferred, but not required in lieu of similar or equal experience.
  • Possess BSA/AML Certification or agree to obtain this certification.
  • High-Level knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Sanctions compliance, and industry best practices.
  • High-level analytical skills to produce and follow leads, develop complete and through pictures of suspicious activity and identify new trends in fraudulent behavior.
  • High-Level knowledge of The Cannabis Control Act, Cannabis Regulation Act and Compassionate Use Act
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document all aspects of the BSA/AML program and related filings, e.g., memos, SAR narratives).
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to learn technical subject areas.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
  • Ability to work independently with minor supervision.
  • Strong and proficient PC skills and have extensive knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
