POSITION SUMMARY

The Department of Occupational Therapy is seeking a colleague who will assist the program through instruction of students in professional coursework that aligns with program needs and the clinical and academic expertise of a respective candidate as well as supports the work of the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. In addition, the OT Clinical Specialist assists the program through advisement of students, assistance with identification of viable fieldwork sites, and ongoing program self-assessment and development.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job duties specific to this position:

Responsibilities include:

Up to 12-credit hours of teaching during the twelve-month period as assigned in consultation with the Department Chair Supporting the work of the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and assisting with ensuring compliance with requirements, documentation, and verification of evidence needed to support ACOTE Standards C.1.1. through C.1.16. Academic advisement of students. Providing support with harvesting viable clinical fieldwork sites. Service on departmental committee's (program evaluation committee, admissions committee, academic committee). Participation in the OT Department ongoing self-assessment processes. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in occupational therapy and will have at least two years of experience in clinical practice as an occupational therapist.
  • Practice experience or content expertise in group intervention/group dynamics and assistive technology will be given priority.
  • Experience in education and/or academic administration is preferred.
  • Maintenance of professional licensure as an occupational therapist in New York State is required.
