Role Overview:
As a Clinical Respiratory Specialist, you will utilize your expertise in the application of scientific principles to address practical clinical challenges in respiratory care.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee all respiratory care procedures pertinent to your designated clinical area, which includes supervising Respiratory Therapy Technicians and students in respiratory care training programs.
This role requires the ability to exercise significant independent clinical judgment in the management of patient respiratory care, operating under the direct or indirect guidance of a physician.
Qualifications:
Education and Credentials:
Completion of a CoARC accredited respiratory care program with an Associate's Degree is mandatory. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Must hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and possess a valid license from the State of New York or practice under a limited permit as a Respiratory Therapist.
Licensed Respiratory Therapists without the RRT credential may also be eligible for this position.
Newly graduated therapists with a permit to practice as a Respiratory Therapist will be considered, with a 5% salary reduction until the RRT credential and therapist license are achieved.
