Clinical Equipment Specialist

The Clinical Equipment Specialist is responsible for delivering essential services related to clinical apparatus under the guidance of departmental leadership. Key responsibilities encompass thorough evaluations of clinical devices to ensure completeness, functionality, and adherence to mechanical and electrical safety standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections and calibrations of general medical equipment.
- Execute repairs on both standard and intricate devices, ensuring optimal performance.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians in diagnosing and addressing complex equipment issues.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- An Associate's degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronics, or a related field is mandatory. Educational background should include formal studies in basic anatomy/physiology, chemistry, and medical terminology.
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in clinical equipment services, ideally within a healthcare setting.
Specialized Skills:
- Proficient understanding of electronics, including solid-state technology and both linear and digital integrated circuits.
- Familiarity with safety standards, hazards, and performance criteria relevant to biomedical instruments is crucial.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the operational principles and safe usage of patient-care equipment is required.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities are essential.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate Range: $38.48, commensurate with verified education and experience.
