About the Position:
As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring effective medication management for our patients.
Your key responsibilities will encompass:
Reviewing, entering, and clarifying prescriptions from healthcare professionals.
Preparing medications with accuracy and diligence, identifying any therapeutic incompatibilities.
Dispensing medications through compounding, packaging, and labeling.
Monitoring drug therapies and providing necessary interventions.
Core Responsibilities:
Efficiently manage various order types: faxed, verbal, electronic, and paper.
Conduct initial and final reviews of orders.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain prescriptions.
Maintain EKits and Automated Dispensing Machines.
Oversee controlled substances and backorders.
Compound IV/TPN and non-sterile compounds.
Ensure accuracy in NDC changes and pre-packed medications.
Supervise pharmacy staff and order entry personnel.
Manage OOP/LOA requests and triage documents.
Perform clinical reviews and report medication errors.
Handle billing procedures and pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of medications, interactions, and dosages
Experience in long-term care preferred, but not mandatory
Familiarity with Frameworks and Docutrack information systems is advantageous
BS in Pharmacy or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
Current pharmacist licensure
