Overview

As the Senior Customs Compliance Analyst, you will oversee the classification and U.S. Customs clearance of $250 million in merchandise and $15 million in duty annually. Responsibilities include coordinating with various teams and ensuring compliance with CBP regulations and other government agencies. They provide training, maintain SOPs, and stay updated on industry changes. Key duties include identifying HTS codes, determining additional duties or tariffs, conducting weekly and monthly audits, and resolving CBP holds. They must ensure accuracy in importing requirements and compliance with 19 CFR. The role also involves identifying duty-saving opportunities, reporting 301 tariff changes, and developing cross-functional systems to streamline processes. Systems used include ORRS, Bamboo Rose, ACE, and Microsoft Office. Reporting responsibilities cover various audit and status reports, including Entry Audit Report, Not Cleared Report, Hold Report, and more.

A Day In The Life:

  • Ensure accuracy in classifications, duty rates, and clearance documentation while maintaining compliance with CBP and PGA requirements. Train new analysts, update job aids, SOPs, and training materials, and work with Management to improve processes.

  • Maintain compliance in the Trade Compliance Program through risk-based audits, identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Develop and test a cross-functional International PO system to streamline processes, reduce risk, and increase efficiency.

  • Create reports on FTAs, AD/CVD cases, and China Section 301 tariffs, identifying risk or savings opportunities, and update Management on significant duty changes.

  • Collaborate with Customs Brokers and the CEE for classification and regulatory updates. Stay informed on industry changes through conferences, webinars, and meetings, and share knowledge with relevant teams and Management.

You'll Come With: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or three years of direct experience in Customs Trade Compliance.
  • Licenses/Certification/Registration: US Customs Broker License and/or CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) preferred.
  • Relevant international operations and customs compliance, clearance, classification experience with keen knowledge of US Import Regulations as relates to Burlington process and commodities for US importation.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of International Supply Chain
  • Ability to research, understand and interpret the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule and binding rulings.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple duties and communicate status and impact as needed.
  • Trained and well versed in all international rules and regulations as it related to the importation of goods into the US.
  • Ability to manage and assist with projects in addition to daily tasks with increased impact responsibility
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Software, Excel, and Teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, team player with a can-do attitude who has the desire to succeed.
