DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To provide counsel, assistance, and behavioral interventions to youth placed in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) to ensure a safe therapeutic environment, and to carry out all duties in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local policies, procedures, and requirements and in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Adelphoi Village.

  • Implement and monitor individual treatment plan interventions in regard to social, emotional, medical, and mental health needs.
  • Participate with youth in therapeutic, educational, recreational, and daily programming activities.
  • Monitor daily behaviors and mental health interventions during programming activities.
  • Assist the clinical staff team in the development of functional behavioral assessments and intervention strategies.
  • Promotes a safe and secure therapeutic environment for youth, staff, and guests.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, under the direction of clinical staff to reinforce emotional and behavioral improvements.
  • Document and maintain necessary information, files, and reports on treatment progress and intervention needs of youth within required time frames.
  • Acts as an appropriate role model for youth.
  • Respond and intervene, when necessary, in crisis situations using agency-approved safe crisis management techniques.
  • Communicates and consults with supervisor, clinical staff team, and teachers daily regarding treatment progress, functional behavioral analysis, and intervention strategies.
  • Supports the staff team in performing responsibilities and duties and offers constructive feedback as necessary.
  • Responsible to manage other unit responsibilities as assigned by the program supervisor.


Education:

Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate Degree; and/or a minimum of 60 college credit hours in education, psychology, social work, and/or other related field. 2-year working experience in counseling dependent, delinquent, or at-risk youth preferred. Or, any equivalent combination of education and/or training.
