Description Schedule :Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk)8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Department: IT PC Support - 213 Primary Purpose : Responsible for translating the client’s and user's information needs into technical solutions that maximize the use of technology while ensuring clear business benefits and value. Performs complex data analyses on large data files that contain clinical and financial data. Designs, develops, implements, and maintains business solutions to optimize analytical processes and outcomes. Suggests and develops streamlined techniques for providing timely information to leadership resulting in improved client offerings and business development. Independently interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining and statistical analysis. Works with clients, internal and external consultants, and project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements. Relies on experience, collaboration, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The IT PC Support Specialist II installs and supports personal computer (PC) systems, networks, and related equipment, print servers, and printers. This position is also the primary resource for IT PC Support Specialist I questions and answers. Essential Functions : Works with and trains IT PC Support Specialist I employees. Installs and images desktop and laptop computers as defined and insure security products are in place on all systems. Updates desktop and laptop images to ensure correct installations and implementations. Updates image and solution management. Provides Level 2 support on desktop, laptop, PDA, printers, and related system issues. Analyzes, diagnoses, repairs, maintains or upgrades systems or sub-systems as required to support ARUP. Provides assistance on software installation, both internally developed and third party software, troubleshooting and user administration. Troubleshoots and repairs all electronic devices and has a good understanding of troubleshooting techniques, including system and network knowledge and repair. Maintains active management and documentation of Helpdesk requests. Tracks and completes open helpdesk incidents in order to provide first class support and timely service to the user-base. Supports LIS hardware and associated printers. Assists in repairing and troubleshooting of LIS user and printer connectivity. Provides instruction, one-on-one/group training to PC system users. Ensures department and system moves are completed in a timely manner by coordinating with the moving department and other IT groups. This includes PCs, monitors, printers, and other system devices. Other duties as assigned. Physical and Other Requirements : Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others. PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies. ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance. Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. Qualifications Education Required High School Diploma or Equivalent or better Preferred Bachelor's Degree or better in Computer Science Associates Degree or better in Computer Science Licenses & Certifications Preferred A+ Certification Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in related field or an A+ certification and/or industry equivalent or better certification and two years of experience in PC system operation and maintenance OR Associate’s degree in related field or an A+ certification or industry equivalent certification and four years of experience in PC system operation and maintenance, one of these years must be as an IT PC Support Specialist I at ARUP OR High school diploma or equivalent with six years’ experience in a similar role Documented experience or demonstrable troubleshooting skills used to address supported units (motherboard, power supply, hard drives, I/O operation (NIC, serial, parallel, USB)) and system level components, Windows Operating System installation and support Documented or demonstrable experience with the successful installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of printers in a professional environment Documented or demonstrable experience with the successful installation, configuration, and/or troubleshooting of instruments/instrument PC’s or the ability to do so within 6 months of hire Preferred Knowledge of cable equipment (crimping tools, cable connectors and testers, pin outs etc.) 2 years building Intel based computer systems Knowledge of computer network operation A+ or other industry equivalent certification Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
