Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise payroll and benefits administrators across multiple regions, ensuring seamless coverage during vacations and illnesses.
  • Manage the end-to-end weekly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of all union benefit payments on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to guarantee timeliness and precision.
  • Review, approve, and appropriately code all benefit payments, both union and non-union, to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
  • Oversee and execute comprehensive union audits ensuring compliance and accuracy. Assist in other company audits as needed.
  • Facilitate seamless onboarding of new acquisition personnel into the company's payroll and benefits systems, ensuring a smooth transition and compliance with company policies.
  • Champion best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Approach all responsibilities with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity, adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support the payroll and finance teams effectively.

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in payroll management; ADP Workforce Now experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of human resources policies, practices, and related federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with employees and business contacts.
  • Strong decision-making ability, capable of making sound judgments while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a team leader and as a member of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive networking to establish effective working relationships.
  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
