Loss Draft Claims Specialist (On - Site) Who we are

Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of America’s top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans. We manage their loan portfolios by collecting homeowners’ mortgage payments, paying their tax and insurance bills, and helping homeowners in default.

Primary Function

The Loss Draft Claims Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the loss draft claims functions. They will assist with training team members, monitoring internal and vendor reporting, and timely processing of day-to-day processes. The Loan Administration Department is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and investor guidelines.

Build, review, and post the daily disbursement batch to the vendor.

Timely and accurately complete assigned research tasks and exception reports.

Complete reports and logs to ensure insurance information is current in the system.

Request payoff quotes as needed.

Review incoming claim checks as needed.

Completing assigned responsibilities timely and with minimal to no errors.

Respond to various email requests from the vendor and internal partners.

Provide accurate communication with vendors based on research.

Performs related duties and special projects as assigned by management.

In addition, the Company has determined that an in-person presence is important to critical components of our work, including oversight, training, collaboration, and productivity. Education and Experience Required education and experience.

Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

2-4 years relevant experience in mortgage banking or real estate financing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Ability to multi-task and well organized.

Possess excellent communication (verbal & written).

Ability to make sound decisions based upon department, company policies, procedures, knowledge, and experience.
