**Job Summary**

The Director of Retail Operations and Strategy is accountable for creating a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsible for defining the strategic direction of James Averys customer experience and overseeing its successful execution. This role influences key business partners across all functions and channels representing the voice of the field and customer in all interactions. Identifies opportunities within the store environment, offers solutions to improve the overall customer experience and operational effectiveness to achieve business goals. Leads payroll direction and identifies opportunities to maximize sales, traffic flow, floor coverage through effective scheduling and reporting. Leads helping hands program and store shop openings in partnership with Wholesale. Manages Store Operations annual budget.

**Essential Functions**

Maintains payroll best practices, including the direction and development of processes, procedures, and reporting.

Plans and executes all Retail related meeting and activities to include annual Store Manager Conference and DM initiative meetings.

Effectively utilizes reports to analyze business trends, identify challenges, opportunities and recognize successes.

Responsible for the development and maintenance of all Retail standard operating procedures and influencing field leadership to ensure consistent implementation across all Stores.

Actively involved in all store aspects including store point-of-views, day-to-day operations, and ensuring stores are being maintained to James Avery standards.

Works collaboratively with all departments spearheading process improvement priorities and established workflows that drive continuous improvement and maximize efficiencies.

Plans, directs, coordinates and oversees operational activities, ensuring development and implementation to meet current and future needs of Retail in areas such as training, budgets, payroll management and reporting, to achieve process optimization.

Collaborates with VP of Retail on development of strategic roadmap and long-range planning.

Leads the Store Operations team in optimizing cross-functional workflows that equip our teams to execute daily operations effectively and efficiently.

Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.

Participates weekly in cross functional business meetings, providing communication and guidance to VP of Retail.

Develops and retains a high performing team.

Analyzes, interprets & applies data (both internal measures & external trends) to identify key issues and maximize the brands business; this includes reporting of key information to inform corporate partners.

Establishes, executes and monitors clear policies and procedures in accordance with general company guidelines.

Improves store productivity by creating calendar for workflow management and increasing productivity.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Seven years Store Leadership and/or Store Operations experience with a passion for developing team members and mentoring future leaders.

Comfort with ambiguity and a dynamic business landscape. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, to prioritize, and adapt to a changing environment.

Strong relationship-building skills and experience working closely with senior executives and cross-functional partners to influence strategic agendas and operationalize key strategic initiatives.

Strong critical thinking and business curiosity, including strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, strong ability to work with complex data to drive insights and decisions.
