Summary The Major Gift Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of donors to engage them in the work and mission of HTI. Through moves management, the MGO will advance relationships with donors

and

prospects to generate long-term partnerships with individuals wanting to engage in the work of HTI through financial support. Carrying a portfolio of approximately 50-75 major donors and 50-75 prospects, the MGO is responsible for developing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors within their portfolio and in conjunction with the Vice President of Advancement with special focus on multi-year pledges with ROI-type donors. This position has a direct impact on the departments reputation among both internal and external customers as well as impacts the financial and operational performance of the department. The Major Gift Officer position reports to the VP of Advancement and will collaborate with the CEO and other leaders. Responsibilities Assist VP of advancement in shaping major donor acquisition and fundraising strategies for HTI. Build and carry a portfolio of approximately 50-75 major donors ($10K - $100k) and 50-75 prospects ($10k+) Collaborate with VP of Advancement and grant writer to create Major Donor collateral including proposals, reports, and other pertinent communication for effective moves management. Effectively and intelligently manage donors through various channels to move them towards deeper engagement, taking a relational approach to securing gifts. Ensure that all activities are entered into the CRM for appropriate reporting and to maintain data integrity. Regularly identify and cultivate prospective donors; ensure high levels of donor satisfaction through timely responses and deeper engagement opportunities. Ensure excellence in the donor experience across all departments and facilitate a compelling and caring donor journey. Attend donor events, networking events, and conferences that prove effective for moving major donor strategy forward. Assist with special projects as identified by the VP of Advancement which may include story harvesting, resource gather, data clean up, and other operational tasks when necessary. Represent HTI with professionalism, sincerity, intentionality, passion, and excellence. Qualifications Bachelors degree 5+ years proven experience in major donor fundraising with a track record of securing six-figure gifts. Proven experience leading high impact donor strategy across teams and departments. Team player committed to building strong internal relationships. Strong writer and a confident and compelling speaker with capacity to clearly and effectively articulate HTIs mission to a wide variety of audiences. Ability to travel 10-15% of the time domestically and internationally for the purpose of donor acquisition and cultivation Familiarity with CRM and giving platform systems. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Compelling conversationalist and intelligent listener. Commitment to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of our work. Comfortable relating to persons of diverse people groups, faiths, political affiliations, and backgrounds.
