Position Overview:
Forefront Living is in search of outstanding candidates for the role of Philanthropy Officer.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Philanthropy Officer for Corporate and Annual Giving collaborates closely with all members of the Forefront Living Foundation, focusing on nurturing and enhancing relationships with corporate partners and mid-level individual contributors.
This role is pivotal in developing and sustaining effective connections to promote corporate contributions, annual fundraising efforts, year-end donations, memorial gifts, tributes, and recurring monthly donations that support the various programs at Forefront Living.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exhibit a service-oriented mindset, proactively addressing challenges and contributing to team achievements while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Embody the organization’s core values of Diversity, Integrity, Stewardship, and Compassion in all daily interactions and tasks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate, foundation, and annual giving donors, collaborating with the Executive Director.
- Work alongside the Executive Director and team to oversee corporate sponsorships and annual giving initiatives.
- Create and present tailored sponsorship proposals to corporate partners that align with both the mission and community objectives.
- Represent Forefront Living at corporate and community events.
- Devise innovative fundraising strategies that benefit both corporate entities and the organization.
- Identify and cultivate potential donors, accurately recording interactions in Raisers Edge and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
- Manage a portfolio of active donors and prospects, aiming for up to 200 contacts each year.
- Implement strategies to engage, solicit, and acknowledge donors in alignment with Forefront Living’s programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance relationship-building techniques.
- Strengthen existing donor relationships to boost annual campaign contributions for Forefront Living.
- Assist in identifying fundraising needs while staying updated on organizational priorities.
- Conduct qualification calls to foster relationships that lead to donations.
- Increase personal outreach to corporate sponsors and mid-level donors.
- Research, draft, and submit grant proposals and Letters of Intent to grant-making corporations, tracking awarded grants.
- Develop strategies with the Executive Director and Major Gifts Philanthropy Officer to transition annual donors into major gift contributors.
- Accurately document all donor interactions in Raisers Edge.
- Promote awareness of Forefront Living’s mission among donors.
- Formulate strategies to enhance monthly and recurring giving.
- Support Foundation team members to cultivate a collaborative atmosphere.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and donor rights.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience with a proven track record in building and maintaining relationships with engaged constituents.
- Exceptional skills in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and sustaining donor relationships.
- Strong presentation and influencing abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in managing major gifts donors with contributions of $5,000 or more.
- CFRE preferred, along with knowledge of Raisers Edge and experience in philanthropy within healthcare or educational settings.
- Experience in preparing and presenting project proposals and negotiating with donors or prospects.
- Proven success in promoting, facilitating, and securing large donations.
- Strong diplomatic skills and a history of developing collaborative relationships with organizational peers and external colleagues.
- Experience in planned giving to offer options to prospective donors with contributions of $80,000 to $100,000 annually.
