This role is a clerical position responsible for receiving incoming telephone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Receptionist has direct contact with patients in addition to greeting and assisting visitors.

  • Performs check-in tasks for patients.
  • Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls. Routes calls appropriately, offering voice mail, paging, or redirection of calls as needed.
  • Greets visitors and assists them as appropriate. Phones or pages employees to meet visitors, directs visitors to appropriate waiting areas, and appropriately and courteously screen solicitors for relevance to organization needs.
  • Performs patient check-in for appointments. Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects copays as required. Verifies patient information and insurance.
  • Copies/scans insurance cards
  • Prints daily appointment schedules for providers as necessary
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • One year of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a medical office setting.
Physical Demands:

Mostly sedentary with some standing, walking, reaching, bending, pushing and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
