Job Summary and Qualifications

The Compliance Coordinator will support the Office of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance by managing and organizing information to demonstrate on-going state and federal regulatory compliance and legal requirements for the multi-state College. In addition, the Coordinator will support the institution by assisting in the coordination and organization of multiple facets of the process required for continued compliance with the Colleges state regulatory agencies. The Compliance Coordinator will also assist the Senior Director with activities required for expansion, Section 504/Title IX disability and accommodations services, review and maintenance of clinical affiliation agreements, and other complex duties.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accreditor and state and federal regulatory agency rules and regulations. Ensure the College is aware of and incorporates changes in law or interpretations.
  2. Prepare, review, and edit materials required for applications and site visits.
  3. Organize and interpret regulatory report data and identify strategies for improvement in maintaining compliance requirements.
  4. Coordinate and organize data and other information in support of ongoing state and federal regulatory compliance, which includes preparation of annual state reports, collaborating with other stakeholders and departments as required. Ensure information and reports are in line with regulatory rules and regulations.
  5. Compiles and submits reports, data, and forms necessary to maintain compliance with various agencies, including:
    1. Secretaries of State filings
    2. State agent filings
    3. State bonds
    4. Public disclosures
  6. Support Colleges suggestion box procedures, including the review of complaints filed through external agencies.
  7. Provide support to the College in investigating complaints, concerns, or recommendations reported through the Grievance Procedure, Suggestion Box, Title IX Complaints, or external agencies.
  8. Investigate incident reports and provide follow up as needed; compile for campus crime statistics.
  9. Identify potential and existing areas of vulnerability and risk within the institution and recommend corrective actions for resolution. Report areas of concern or non-compliance to Senior Director of Accreditation, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs and the appropriate Dean and/or Vice President.
  10. Support Colleges Section 504/Title IX disability and accommodations services.
  11. Review, provide feedback on, and maintain articulation and clinical affiliation agreements for the College.
  12. Support Senior Director of Accreditation, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs in effort to achieve state board of nursing and state board of education authorizations in order to expand the post licensure programs in states outside those with a current physical presence; obtain and maintain state authorizations or exemptions.
  13. Understand college operating procedures, institutional benchmarks, and external guidelines and benchmarks, consumer disclosures, and other required compliance elements.
  14. Maintain effective and standard operational processes and documentation.
  15. Support training programs to improve compliance with policies and regulations.
  16. Monitor local, regional, and national publications for news and events that may impact the College.
  17. Prepare responses for signature, summarize lengthy correspondence and follow up to ensure proper and timely action is taken.
  18. Operates independently, assisting faculty and staff in the absence of department leadership.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Education: Minimum of an earned bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of experience in higher education or related field, including multi-location office setting. Experience in regulatory reporting and interpreting data preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent judgment, problem solving, analytical abilities with high attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and organize projects to meet deadlines.
  • Special Qualifications: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Must be highly organized with ability to work in a team environment, multitask, and prioritize projects. Must have an ability to respect at all times the confidential nature of the work and information in the Executives office.
  • Degree of Supervision: Minimal
