Position Summary
The IT Compliance Analyst is essential in guaranteeing that our information technology systems and procedures adhere to SOX regulations and established industry standards.
This role will provide vital leadership and direction to the IT compliance team while working closely with various departments, including IT, finance, and internal audit, to pinpoint and mitigate any potential compliance challenges.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of SOX regulations along with a solid understanding of relevant industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate and execute a thorough IT compliance strategy and program to ensure compliance with SOX regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee all facets of IT compliance concerning SOX requirements, including the evaluation, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT controls and processes.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to identify and document essential IT controls and processes that fall under SOX compliance and industry standards.
- Conduct regular evaluations and audits of IT controls to ensure compliance with SOX requirements and identify any potential compliance risks or issues.
- Establish and implement IT compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence to SOX regulations and industry standards.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the IT compliance team, including setting objectives, managing performance, and promoting a culture of compliance.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate SOX compliance and other audits, providing necessary documentation and evidence.
- Stay informed about industry trends and changes in compliance regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and recommend necessary updates to IT controls and processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement IT compliance initiatives and projects.
- Prepare and present regular updates to senior management regarding the status of IT compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of nine years of experience in IT compliance, internal audit, or a related role, preferably within the healthcare services sector.
- External audit experience is also preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of SOX regulations and their application to IT systems and processes.
- Familiarity with NIST, HIPAA, and ISO standards and their relevance to IT systems and processes.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective IT compliance programs, including IT controls and processes.
- Knowledge of IT risk management frameworks and methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance requirements is essential.
