SUMMARY

The Manager of IT Compliance works in conjunction with the Churchill Downs, Incorporated Information Technology team, business teams, internal auditors and external auditors to help maintain and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley from an IT General Controls perspective. A key function of the role is to look to the future for opportunities to improve the methods for complying with ITGC and make regular recommendations on processes and technology that may help CDI continue to grow at a rapid pace yet maintain compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT general controls, enjoy collaborating with peers throughout the organization and have a passion for evangelizing and educating IT team members and business users on the benefits and requirements as they relate to the Information Technology General Controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Own the Sarbanes-Oxley Information Technology (IT) General Controls (GC) across all Churchill Downs, Incorporated applications and business units/locations.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external auditors, as well as various control owners for the Information Technology General Controls (ITGC)
  • Create and maintain a road map for IT Compliance team, including potential improvements for training, systems tracking, suggestions for automation, etc.
  • Be the main point of contact for IT and assist on all internal and external audit teams where IT inquiry is required.
  • Monitor activities of assigned IT areas to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures including monthly, quarterly, and annual account and activity reviews.
  • Conduct ITGC/security control test of design and test of operating effectiveness activities.
  • Identify observations and manage remediation tasks through to closure while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Ensure execution of required testing and auditing activities for the IT Department by internal and external parties leading to successful certification of the company on an ongoing basis
  • Triage Change Management issues and provide recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with Security Compliance and Legal teams to identify and manage privacy, data protection risks, and compliance requirements to help meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Recommend broad improvements on compliance related processes and/or procedures as it pertains to the IT department and identify opportunities for ITGC/security compliance control automation.
  • Partner with management, business teams, and/or data team to implement solutions.
  • Determine any potential remediation plan and follow up testing should audit teams identify any potential control deficiencies (errors/issues).
  • Coordinate with business and IT teams to provide internal and external audit with any needed documentation to perform control tests.
  • Help to ensure documentation or information requests that have been assigned to business stakeholders are being fulfilled in a timely fashion and escalate, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REGULATORY
Ability to obtain racing and/or gaming licenses as required in any jurisdiction where CDI operates. The Gaming industry is highly regulated and as such demands an extensive background check to obtain a license.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or equivalent experience required.
    Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred.
  • Experience with Audit, Compliance, & Risk Management Software, AuditBoard or similar preferred.
  • Experience with SAP CIAG (Cloud Identity Access Goveranance) a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of IT Audit experience
  • Familiarity with common compliance standards (SOX, SOC2, PCI-DSS, etc.) and experience working directly with internal or external auditors.
  • Management experience in audit/compliance setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
