Job Overview The Accounting Manager- Fixed Assets is responsible for developing and managing global policies around fixed assets. This role is instrumental in providing expertise and guidance and driving process improvement initiatives throughout the enterprise. This role will act as the liaison to our Shared Service Center (SSC) and will be the primary point of communication with local operations finance team members. This role also has oversight for coordinating periodic fixed asset physical verifications. This role will also perform and support other general accounting activities performed with the Record to Report team. A Day In The Life Oversee the SSC to ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of fixed asset accounting and reporting requirements (including fixed asset and intangible related rollforwards) Troubleshoot and offer recommendations to SSC when fixed asset related issues arise Provide technical guidance to the business as to whether costs should be considered capital or expense Evaluate existing processes and, where appropriate, perform analysis to identify opportunities for further standardization, automation and cost savings. Preparation/review of both journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring proper supporting documentation exists for both Ensure the SSC is complying with existing company fixed asset policies and procedures Update all fixed asset related SOX documentation and assist with testing of internal controls Provide support for internal and external compliance audits. This includes coordinating and reviewing all interim and year end related PwC audit requests Ensure business units are performing and documenting their fixed asset physical verifications as required Assist with the preparation of fixed asset/intangible asset upload files for business units transitioning to SAP Partner with the tax department to ensure fixed asset information is presented in accordance with tax requirements Other special projects as necessary What will help you thrive in this role? Minimum of 7 years of accounting, auditing and related experience of which at least 3 years must be in fixed asset accounting Understanding of US GAAP Experience in a large ($1B+), multi-national corporation Ability to work well under tight time constraints Understanding of end-to-end processes with a strong attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to work across all organizational levels, departments and groups Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint and PowerPoint), particularly Excel and PowerPoint Strong knowledge of SAP, Onestream and Blackline preferred Competencies Hubbell Incorporated Hubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
