Consumer Marketing Manager, Amazon Pay JP Marketing

Amazon Pay is the service that offers a more convenient and safer shopping experience to Amazon customers. Amazon Pay enables customers to utilize their shipping information and credit card stored on Amazon for shopping at EC sites outside of Amazon.co.jp. This service eliminates the need to remember multiple IDs/passwords on off-Amazon sites, eliminates the requirement to input shipping address/credit card details, and provides protection through Amazon Marketplace Guarantee. Many merchants have reported a significant increase in Amazon Pay wallet share, with some experiencing a 50% share compared to 30% previously. Amazon Pay is widely accepted by customers and has shown to increase merchants' conversion rates and contribute to membership acquisition. Some merchants have witnessed a doubling of their conversion rates and a tripling of new membership registrations since implementing Amazon Pay.

Since its launch in Japan in May 2015, over 100,000 EC sites have adopted Amazon Pay, making it one of the fastest-growing services in the region. As a result, the Amazon Pay JP Marketing team is looking for an experienced consumer marketing manager to play a pivotal role in maximizing customer lifetime value, acquiring new customers, and retaining active customers of Amazon Pay. This role will involve collaborating with the Global Marketing Team, Consumer Payments team, and other internal and external stakeholders to identify new opportunities, conduct tests, and deliver results that attract new Amazon Pay buyers and encourage repeat purchases.

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, data-oriented marketer who can execute flawlessly, think creatively for new ideas, and is unafraid of failure. You should be enthusiastic about testing and learning in a data-driven environment, utilizing customer data and insights, and conducting research to create new campaigns supported by economic recommendations.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated: - High attention to detail, effective customer communications, and the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently. - Flexibility, data orientation, creativity, and a willingness to take risks. - Enthusiasm for testing and learning in a data-driven environment, using customer insights to develop new campaigns. - Ability to plan and execute innovative campaigns and create processes from scratch. - Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel and other software, to support assumptions with data. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for complex documents and presentations to senior stakeholders. - Capacity to think strategically and execute methodically, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Key job responsibilities: - Develop and implement effective marketing plans/campaigns to increase consumer awareness, acquire new consumers, promote repeat purchases, and maximize Total Payment Volume (TPV) for Amazon Pay. - Optimize marketing channels across Amazon O&O and external channels. - Lead end-to-end initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize, execute, and deliver campaigns. - Collaborate with internal teams to execute marketing channels on Amazon.co.jp. - Manage design and research agencies for acquisition and customer marketing campaigns. - Analyze project/campaign effectiveness, derive insights, and share results with senior leaders. - Coordinate with financial partners to ensure streamlined execution and approval processes.

Minimum qualifications: - 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience. - Experience in developing, executing, and scaling cross-functional marketing programs. - Proficiency in using data and metrics to measure impact and drive improvements. - Experience in A/B testing, particularly in audience segmentation and targeting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in developing, executing, and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion. - Knowledge of the Payments industry.
