ESI’s HR Generalist is responsible for the daily processing of HRIS files, payroll history status, training, onboarding, benefits, employee relations and HR Compliance. This position will be under direct supervision of the Human Resource Manager to assist with projects as directed.

This role will be located at our Headquarters located in Meridian, ID.

Responsibilities

Employee Relations/Compliance:

  • Oversee and assist in employee onboarding process to ensure First Choice Service.
  • Coordinate leaves of absence (such as FMLA, STD, ADA).
  • Oversee compliance of I-9 and E-Verify process.
  • Assist/advise Managers with performance issues utilizing the appropriate process (such as PIP, Disciplinary)
  • Manage employee digital files and other applicable documentation to ensure correct, timely and accurate data and paperwork is properly retained.
  • Assist with maintenance of employee personnel records including changes in personnel file and system applications (i.e. leaves of absence, terms, and management changes).
  • Perform internal audits on personnel files and records to remain in compliance.
  • Partner with the HR Team on materials for mandatory HR training, open enrollment, benefits orientation, and other essential functions.
  • Maintain/create HR forms to ensure all managers and employees have the most current versions available.

Benefits:

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health plans, 401k, and wellness benefits.
  • Conduct employee benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims, questions, or life event changes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable plan and government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees; CMS, PCORI, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, 1095’s.
  • Generate the payment processing of monthly billings for all group plans.
  • Reconcile benefits General Ledger Accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Assists the HR Manager in maintaining and managing statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit ESI.
  • Prepare/create educational material for benefit training, open enrollment, benefits orientation, and other essential functions. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Prepare and schedule meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand ESI benefits and other related incentive programs.
  • Maintain benefits agendas and prepare meeting minutes.

General:

  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Continually look for process improvements in policies and procedures and make recommendations for enhancement and best practices.
  • Cross-train with other Generalists to provide support or backup when needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Preference for well-rounded experience with knowledge of employee relations, performance management, legal and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive information and data.
  • Ethical conduct always.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative in problem solving and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
