The Global Commodity Specialist manages the relationships with IMMI’s direct material suppliers and evaluates how those relationships fit into the Supply Chain’s short and long-term strategies. This position directly oversees all aspects of commodity management for the Fasteners, Machinings, Seat Assemblies, and Aluminum Extrusion commodities.
Additionally, this position supports a Sr. Global Commodity Manager with New Product Introduction, Supplier Compliance, Data Analytics, and Special Projects for all Metals and Stampings commodities.

LOCATION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Commodity strategy creation, company alignment, and execution
Initiate RFQ’s for new product projects or engineering projects and award of business per strategy
Supplier on time delivery, quality, and PPAP approval metrics
Identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers
Investigate new opportunities through an improved supply chain or new suppliers
Assure IMMI is using the best total cost supply partners in the marketplace
Cross functional team work
Collaborate with the quality, engineering, finance, and sales/marketing departments to maximize the company’s goals while minimizing internal conflicts
Supporting Sr. Commodity Manager with:
New Product Introduction Projects and RFQs
Supply base adherence to quality and delivery requirements to maximize production up-time
Purchasing database building and analytics team
QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience
A bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, or related field
MBA or Masters in Engineering preferred
Highly developed negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Complex data analytical skills with demonstrated results
Experience with Oracle ERP and Supplier Portal, or similar understanding of ERP systems
Experience with a high mix / low volume commodity management of safety critical components
Complete understanding of global supply base for specified commodities, and complete understanding of all the cost drivers in the specific Category.
