The successful candidate will spearhead the development, analysis, and presentation of timely financial metrics to facilitate informed business decisions. A strong analytical mindset is essential for this position, as is the ability to apply US GAAP to intricate inventory transactions and manage inter/intra-company eliminations across various plants with multiple currencies.

The Senior Financial Cost Analyst will report directly to the Cost Accounting Manager, who possesses over 15 years of experience in cost accounting, and will engage regularly with the Company's CFO, who has been with the organization for 20 years. This position offers the chance to collaborate closely with internal teams, including department heads, plant managers, finance managers, purchasing, change management, sales, and operations teams, to drive solutions for daily tasks and ensure precision in financial reporting and analysis.

IMMI is a dynamic manufacturing entity established in 1961, recently transitioning to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), enabling team members to become 'owners' and participate in the company's future success. IMMI serves a diverse array of markets, catering to hundreds of clients across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain proficiency in product costing across all IMMI divisions, including both standard and average costing methodologies utilized by finance, operations, and sales.
  • Facilitate costing reviews and setups for new products and revisions in collaboration with change management, operations, and engineering teams.
  • Oversee global standard cost updates, including inter/intra-company transactions.
  • Work with Global Procurement to refresh standard purchased materials and associated pricing.
  • Coordinate the calculation of standard labor and overhead rates.
  • Manage the calculation of material overhead freight rates.
  • Oversee the Global Material and Labor budget.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly variances related to Material, Labor, and Overhead.
  • Develop and sustain a comprehensive understanding of costing processes, including item costing, transfer pricing, work in progress, and inventory transactions.
  • Ensure business process expertise for all inventory transactions, encompassing shipping, receiving, material movement, scrap, and job completions.
  • Assist in the financial review of inventory, including obsolete stock, annual physical inventory counts, capitalization of variances, inventory adjustments, scrap, and cycle count programs.
  • Complete designated month-end closing responsibilities, including journal entries, reviews, and analyses.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all month-end closing procedures.
  • Establish, review, and disseminate monthly reports utilized in plant financial review meetings with the executive team, ensuring accuracy in reported data.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts associated with standard costs, inventory, and work in progress.
  • Engage in compliance monitoring for Maquiladora Annex 24/31.
  • Continuously assess the costing system and propose enhancements to maintain an accurate global costing structure that aligns with the evolving business needs of the Company.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure that Material Costs, Bill-of-Materials, Routers, and Labor Rates are accurately represented.
  • Keep procedures related to costing activities up to date.
  • Address external financial audit requests concerning inventory, standards, and cost of goods sold.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience within the manufacturing sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, v-lookup, and nested IF formulas).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Able to effectively collaborate in a team-oriented environment across various departments.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Business System.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Product Costing systems and AccountMate average costing system.
  • CMA certification preferred but not mandatory.
