Role:
The Regional Safety Manager monitors workplace activities in their assigned region to promote and ensure employee compliance with applicable safety regulations. The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for implementing health and safety plans, enforcing policies, assessing risk, and interacting with Federal, State, and Local authorities within their assigned region. The Regional Safety Manager conducts safety training, investigates incidents/accidents, and provides recommendations for improvement, aiming to create a safe and compliant workplace within their region.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enforcing company safety policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Evaluating practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Coordinates the administration and facilitation of employee training on applicable safety standards in their region.
- Reviews safety training(s) and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations and ensures all required safety training is completed. Detects hazardous conditions and assumes appropriate follow-up on unsafe conditions.
- Consults with regional leadership including RVP, OM, and ASMs to recommend preventive or corrective measures relating to processes, potential gaps in safety and or personal protective equipment.
- Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Coordinates with all OSHA inspectors and FMCSA regulations within their region.
- Implements internal safety standards and policies developed by the safety department.
- Reviews daily, accidents and incidents reported by employees through companies Health and Safety Portal, companys driving scorecards within their region and follows up with employee and managers. Completes applicable steps in Health and Safety Portal to complete and move process forward including RCA.
- Visits facilities/offices in their region as needed, preferably at least twice per year. Travel is 50% +.
- Provides safety plans and recommendations on unsafe issues within their region.
- Helps monitor MVR licenses for loss of license, DUI and state mandated compliance through software and recommends action as necessary within regional offices.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
- Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Proficient in Company Health and Safety Portal
- Proficient in Company Driving Software for monitoring safe driving behavior.
- Ability to conduct training.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Background in Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) year of related safety experience preferred.
- Previous experience in HVAC Industry or other service/construction business preferred.
Physical requirements:
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Continuously able to work in office/field environment.
- Continuously able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer.
- Continuously able to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours.
- Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
- Able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day.
- Occasionally able to lift up to 25+ lbs. at a time.
- Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching.
- Occasionally Requires climbing.
- Ability to travel as needed 50%+
