General Job Description The Human Resources Assistant will be an integral member of our HR team. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager and has a hands-on role in day-to-day human resources activities. The Human Resources Assistant will have the opportunity to provide support in these functional areas: recruiting and onboarding, training and development, benefits, and general administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, independent judgment, and initiative. This is a full time, non-exempt position in MPR’s Alexandria, VA office. Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for employees who need general support from HR. Support and assist with administration of benefit programs (e.g. Open Enrollment). Assist with scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate travel, and creating interview packages. Support onboarding activities to include developing and compiling orientation packages. Assist with the coordination of training programs to include updating the Learning Management System. Provide general administrative support, including assisting with the maintenance of files, updating the Human Resources Information System, maintaining spreadsheets, and updating forms and departmental lists. Assist with employee morale events and other corporate-sponsored activities. Other duties as assigned. Education · Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred. Experience One to two years (or strong internship experience) of related and/or administrative experience with an interest in a career in human resources preferred. Experience working in a professional services firm is a plus. Skills – Personal Solid communication and time management skills. Ability to work proficiently alone and in teams. Ability to keep sensitive information confidential. Good interpersonal skills dealing with a wide range of individuals. Diligent worker with self-initiative and demonstrated effectiveness in completing tasks in a timely way with a proven ability to multi-task and deal with interruptions without losing effectiveness. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Persistent, questioning attitude and ability to accept that in others. Skills – Software Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with a Human Resources Information System is a plus. Experience with a Learning Management System is a plus.
