Role Objective

The Human Systems division at Triton employs a user-focused design methodology to create solutions that meet the needs of our users. We engage in projects that cover a range of critical areas, including:

  • synthetic training systems and extended reality (XR)
  • wearable technology
  • physiological monitoring devices
  • medical devices for trauma and field care
  • innovative human-machine interfaces, including haptic technology

We are in search of a Project-level Human Factors Engineer to contribute to our initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Guide the technical team in defining product direction through user-centered observation techniques, from expert interviews to systematic human subjects research.
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders through both written reports and presentations.
  • Assist in business development efforts by drafting proposals and seeking strategic partnerships.
  • Identify and creatively address complex challenges.

Collaboration with colleagues in small teams is essential, both within the Human Systems group and across other departments on a variety of projects.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in various phases of the product design lifecycle, from concept development to refinement and validation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of technical teams, including those focused on human factors, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with design history management and regulatory standards.
  • Experience with statistical analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of SBIR programs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in human-centered product design or related areas.
