Under minimal supervision, performs broad purchasing activities requiring extensive or specialized knowledge and experience for staff and physicians in an efficient/courteous manner while providing the best value to The Everett Clinic and supporting the clinics Core Values. Including; processing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, vendor management and issue resolution.

Role is onsite: 17212 51st Avenue NE Suite 110 Arlington, WA.

Primary Responsibilities
  • 63% Processes requisition, reviews approval authority, identifies and selects vendors for supplies or equipment that require extensive or specialized knowledge and experience. Issues purchase orders and performs complex problem solving in relation to these duties. Coordinates orders which may include researching and recommending options, vendor selection, working directly with CPM's and all management levels, for the buyers designated departments and vendors
  • 6% Maintain current knowledge of all contracts available for price comparisons. Maintaining Clinic standards, keeps current with market trends
  • 5% Reviews vendors pricing and performance on a regular basis. Assists in evaluation of alternate vendors and maximum contract compliance for supplies
  • 6% Assists in maintaining optimum economic levels of supplies within the Clinic
  • 8% Negotiates terms and conditions on capital acquisitions
  • 3% Responsible to Accounting staff for any discrepancies and/or invoice concerns and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • 3% Assists in evaluation of alternate vendors and maximum contract compliance for supplies
  • 2% Maintains appropriate and accurate product, vendor pricing and purchase order records
  • 1% Responsible for running queries and analyzing and reporting data
  • 1% Assists with training less experienced Buyers

  • Ensures confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA guidelines and TEC policies
  • Attends training to meet requirements of the job position and as needed or mandated by TEC policies, Div. of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), OSHA, L&I and other state/federal regulations
  • Has regular and predictable attendance

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, or GED
  • 4+ years of experience buying medical supplies and equipment
  • Experience using Word and Excel software to advanced levels
  • Knowledge of purchasing and contract administration practices

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate vendor contracts

Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $48,300 to $94,500 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
