Responsible for the development of HV/LV battery pack systems. In this role you will follow the design of products from inception throughout development phase and release production intent product for manufacturing. In addition, you will lead prototype development and support required quoting activities as it pertains to product development with customers as well as supply chain. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead design and development of battery pack systems and other related mechanical designs through analysis, design, and testing. Create design concepts for industrialization of battery packs HV and LV. Provide technical leadership for design and manufacturing related matters. Has total ownership of the Mechanical design and associated program deliverables. Support Design team drawing releases to meet internal and external requirements. Review product validation/verification plans at product level and ensure requirements are met. Keep program team members and management appraised of project status and roadblocks. Support product DFMEAs, APQP process, following design for manufacturing techniques, and PPAP principles. Support cost reduction roadmap by collaborating with suppliers as well as project team members. Coordinate builds for Design Validation and customer requirements including ordering components and inventory control Specific Skills/Abilities Bachelor or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and or equivalent. 2- 5 years’ experience within Engineering market preferred. Experience designing plastic parts, understanding manufacturing techniques for high and low volume projects, and experience selecting proper materials for the application. Experience in fabricating prototypes and various fabrication methods. Experience with APQP Process, creating DFMEA’s, and PPAP. Experience in GD&T and ASME Y14.1 drawing principles. Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and excel in a self-directed work environment as well as within a cross functional team. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral format. Training Required Candidates will attend HV safety training offered by Enersys as an on-the-job training function.
