NYITs Manhattan campus seeks an Assistant Director for First Year admissions recruitment. The Assistant Director will be responsible for meeting enrollment objectives in his/her designated territory as well as other duties and responsibilities in order to meet NYTechs first year student enrollment goals.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manager of recruitment territory as assigned.
  • Participate in college fairs, high school visits, and on-site admissions events within the territory.
  • Provide guidance directors/counselors with up to date information about NYTech.
  • Represent NYTech at the national level: NACAC/WSCA/NYSACAC/NJACAC/IACAC/WACAC.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective students, their families and guidance/college counselors.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations regarding designated territory.
  • Conduct and participate in both virtual and on-campus Information Sessions, Open House for both the NYC and Long Island campuses, Preview Days for both campuses, and other recruitment/yield events throughout the year.
  • Review all applications in assigned queue to determining eligibility for acceptance.
  • Review and make decisions for all students who are participating in on-site admissions events.
  • Reach out to our applicant pool via email, tele-counseling and fixed communication.
  • Act as a first-year advisor for students after students completed their placement exams.
  • Assist students with their first semester schedule and registration.
  • Act as liaison to designated departments or special programs and provide support when needed.
  • Collaborate and strategize with members of the admissions team and other academic departments to expand our recruitment and yield efforts.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all constituents and perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Admissions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and a valid drivers license is required along with excellent interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
  • Previous admissions experience is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate should have an understanding of the higher education landscape.
  • Must be available to travel extensively and work nights and weekends when necessary.
