Position Summary

The Financial Analyst reports to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. Located in Landover, MD. Full-Time Hybrid

The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for preparing financial plans, analyzing actual results vs. plans, reporting results to internal management and external parties (as needed) and performing ad hoc financial analyses. A key objective for this role is to help drive financial results by providing business leaders data driven insights that facilitate focusing the business on the most impactful areas. This role will also be responsible for helping to drive efficiencies in the organization through process improvement, automation, and standardization.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts. Partner with key stakeholders to analyze financial data, explain variances and investigate discrepancies. Highlight risks and opportunities to financial targets and raise issues as appropriate. Maintain effective business partnerships to gain insight into business trends and strategic initiatives that impact financial forecasts. Develop and maintain monthly reporting packages. Analyze and track operational and financial metrics. Identify, develop and implement process improvements. Prepare ad-hoc analyses to understand business trends. Provide project/initiative support as needed.

Competencies

Financial modeling and strong analytical skills required. Proven technical skills; ability to understand and build complex data models and financial scenarios. Solid knowledge of P&L and Balance Sheet relationship and management. Understanding of databases and queries (preferably experience with SQL and/or Python). Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with others. Strong written and oral presentation skills. Ability to effectively multi-task with competing priorities; make decisions under pressure and work under tight deadlines; delivering accurate, on time, high quality work. Strong attention to detail.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar; MBA/CPA preferred, or equivalent Military or practical experience. 2 – 5 years of progressive finance experience. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Experience with data analytics tools and languages strongly preferred (e.g. PowerBI, Python, SQL). Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance. #ASIndeed

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
