Job purpose

As a Sr. Logistics and Operations Specialist at PHINIA, you will play a pivotal role in the Aftermarket business ensuring smooth supply chain operations while working closely with Inventory Planning, Sales, and Warehouse business units. This position is responsible for how material is transported from our suppliers to our main distribution warehouses as well as how material and orders are shipped from our main distribution centers to our customers.

In this position, the right candidate should consider transportation budget for both inbound and outbound flows as well as keeping the customer's order needs top of mind. You will be required to bring creative and innovative solutions to the table in regard to problem solving and transportation savings and should be comfortable negotiating carrier contracts and tariffs with both domestic and international carriers.

This position requires a well-rounded knowledge of all transportation service levels both domestically and internationally to ensure correct services are being selected based on the needs of both the supplier and the customer. You will work closely with our Warehouse Manager to ensure any issues the warehouse team is having with our carriers or suppliers is captured and follows correct procedures to be resolved quickly.

Key responsibilities

Inbound Track and Trace

Schedule and Track and all IB shipments for the Aftermarket Distribution Center. This includes all international ocean and air shipment as well as all contracted domestic truckload shipments. Keeping the Inbound capacity levels in mind to ensure not to overload and cause backup on the receiving dock.

Organize and provide needed shipment documentation to warehouse Inbound team to ensure accurate receipt of all IB shipments.

Freight Bill Audit and Monthly Freight Accrual

Auditing of freight invoices to ensure cost aligns with current contracted rates and accessorial tables agreed upon between both PHINIA Delphi USA LLC and the carrier or ocean forwarder. Tracking carrier cost on a monthly basis and tracking of paid invoices vs unpaid invoices month over month.

Monthly Forecasting

Forecast monthly IB spend to ensure it aligns with budget, this includes domestic, ocean, and expedited air spend. Ensure monthly OB forecast is accurate based on historical data and current months sales number compared to previous month's sales number.

Carrier Relationships

Keeping good carrier relationships with all ocean, domestic, and air providers we currently work with and bringing on new carriers that fit our needs.

What we're looking for

Education/Experience - Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain and logistics
  • 5+ Years of supply chain and logistics experience
  • 3+ years' experience with TMS providers
  • Significant and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Education/Experience - Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good influential people skills, strategic thinking and problem solving ability
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but industry experience will be considered in place of a degree
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate across multiple teams
  • Ability to manage complex data
  • GAP analysis experience
  • Familiarity with SAP, and Power BI
