Position Summary:

The Fleet Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the organization's fleet vehicles. This role includes managing vehicle upkeep, scheduling repairs, assigning vehicles, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The specialist acts as the main liaison for branches, project teams, and logistics partners, working to enhance fleet efficiency and cost-effectiveness in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the transfer of fleet assets among branch locations based on project needs and equipment availability.
  • Oversee logistics for equipment deliveries to large-scale projects that involve multiple branch locations.
  • Serve as a communication hub for coordination between branch locations, project teams, and logistics partners to ensure seamless delivery operations.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of asset movements, including inventory management and asset condition reporting.
  • Collaborate with branch managers and operations teams to prioritize asset distribution and maximize fleet utilization.
  • Engage with stakeholders to evaluate equipment needs for upcoming projects and plan timely deliveries.
  • Monitor delivery timelines and proactively address any delays or logistical issues to minimize project disruptions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline fleet coordination processes, including the implementation of technology and automation tools.
  • Establish best practices and standard operating procedures to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety in fleet logistics operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in fleet management, automotive service, logistics, or a related area preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficient in PC software applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Knowledgeable about vehicle maintenance, automotive systems, and safety regulations.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in pricing, specifications, and procurement or leasing of vehicles, including understanding and tracking total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Familiarity with fleet management systems and technologies is preferred.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to fleet operations.
