Commercial Banking Market Manager I

Position Summary:
The Commercial Banking Market Manager I (CBMM I) is responsible for leading all commercial business development efforts within a specified market that is generally between $50MM and $200MM in total commercial loan commitments. The CBMM I, in addition to their assigned market team, will examine, evaluate, and authorize or recommend approval of customer applications for extension of lines of credit, commercial loans and owner-occupied commercial real estate loans that are generally over $500,000 and for companies within the bank's footprint. The CBMM I, and their direct reports, will also originate from time to time non-owner occupied commercial real estate transactions that are generally under $5 million. The CBMM I will also be responsible for generating commercial deposits and leading the efforts of their direct reports in doing the same.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates and implements market-based business plans that align with the overall objectives and goals of the region, Commercial Division, and Camden National Bank.
- Responsible for guiding credit and pricing efforts for a specified market so that they align with the region and corporate goals and objectives.
- Identifies and develops prospects for loan and deposit opportunities. Uses systems and tools made available by the bank, as well as other resources to develop prospects.
- Ensures that pre-call plans are being utilized to optimize effectiveness of each call. Involves teammates within or outside of the Commercial Division when essential for the best possible customer experience.
- Interviews prospects/applicants and requests essential information for loan applications or deposit generation.
- Leads by example in working collaboratively with the Credit and Commercial Administration Team personnel to ensure efficient workflow for all loan applications, leading to superior customer experiences. This may include the formation of "Deal Discussion Memos and Term Sheets" that is vetted by appropriate personnel as part of the loan vetting and sales process.
- Works collaboratively with Retail Banking leadership and Camden National Wealth Management personnel to ensure that a "relationship" approach is being taken to meet customer needs.
- Responsible for the accuracy of their submissions to the Loan Pipeline Report and will update the report accordingly.
- Manages own efforts toward meeting or exceeding targeted production goals.
- Personal production goals for the CBMM I will generally include new loan production of $13.5 million or more and new deposit production of $2 million or more. Loan fee income and average growth in loans and deposits will align with the budget for their market. These goals will be set by the CBMM I's manager in collaboration with the Senior Loan Officer of the bank.
- Coordinates, through attorneys and Commercial Administration Team personnel, the production of all commercial loan documentation for self-generated loans.
- Actively manages, either directly or through the collaborative efforts of others within the Commercial Administration Team, all commercial loan relationships assigned to the CBMM I's team. This includes collection efforts when needed, credit file maintenance, site visits and loss mitigation efforts when applicable.
- Frequently represents Camden National Bank at various business, community and social functions.
- Actively involved, at leadership or committee level positions, with non-profits within the market, region or state.
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Formal credit analysis training or the experience and educational equivalent.

- Keeps customers as a top priority and makes business decisions that balance the needs of the customer with the Bank's goals and objectives. Actively listens to customers and leads the efforts of others to creatively solve customer issues.
- Able to effectively communicate before groups of people, both within and outside the organization. Is able to clearly communicate the vision of Camden National Bank and is persuasive and is able to influence sales and credit decisions. Is comfortable and effective in communicating upward.
- Possesses and demonstrates good project management skills. Has proven track record of leading or adding significantly to project teams, both within the region, on an organizational level, or even outside the bank on a volunteer basis
- The CBMM I will have direct reports that consists of up to two commercial banking officers (CBO) within a market. The CBMM I is responsible to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning assigning and directing work efforts; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- The CBMM I reports directly to the Regional Director of Commercial Banking for the region that their market falls within.
