POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Relationship Executive is responsible for managing and nurturing commercial loan accounts, ensuring they align with established lending criteria while maximizing profitability and minimizing risk for CB&S Bank. This role is crucial in fostering growth and enhancing the bank's profitability through strong commercial partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with branch leadership to develop strategic business plans aimed at achieving sales objectives and overall organizational targets.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all bank products and services to effectively promote offerings to both existing and prospective commercial clients.
  • Maintains and enhances existing commercial loan accounts while expanding relationships through cross-selling and referrals.
  • Assists in the rollout of new products or initiatives designed to improve customer service and stimulate growth.
  • Demonstrates initiative in achieving assigned sales, service, and retention objectives.
  • Supervises lending assistants and customer service representatives, conducting performance evaluations and providing necessary training on commercial products and services.
  • Negotiates terms of credit, including costs, repayment methods, and collateral requirements.
  • Monitors the credit quality of the commercial loan portfolio, performing thorough analyses of credit reports, financial statements, and cash flows.
  • Develops and nurtures referral sources to generate additional business opportunities.
  • Proactively informs clients about upcoming loan maturities and renewals, ensuring timely completion of necessary documentation.
  • Participates in various committees as assigned and may manage special projects or programs as directed by management.
  • Conducts interviews with loan applicants, assesses financial information, and makes informed lending decisions in accordance with established policies.
  • Responsible for managing a commercial loan portfolio, ensuring adherence to sound banking practices while maintaining profitability.
  • Engages in community activities to enhance the bank's visibility and reputation.
  • Conducts business development calls to both existing and potential clients, tracking progress in a contact management system.
  • Implements strategies to reduce overdue loans and non-performing assets to meet leadership expectations.
  • Collaborates closely with the Collection Manager to address delinquent accounts.
  • Facilitates effective communication between team members and management to ensure a high-quality information flow.
  • Interacts effectively with all levels of bank personnel and communicates efficiently with clients and management.
  • Achieves specific goals related to production, quality, and growth as outlined by management.
  • Actively seeks new deposit and Treasury Management opportunities within the assigned market.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Participates in Loan Committee meetings as necessary.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with loan support staff.
  • Responds to inquiries or directs them to the appropriate department, ensuring follow-through with clients and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent business experience.
  • Two to three years of experience in commercial and consumer lending; supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of lending policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet established objectives.
  • Proven ability to motivate staff in a sales environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to analyze complex financial information and present findings effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients and bank personnel.
  • Essential skills in business development, customer relations, and decision-making.
