Position: Automation Technology Engineer Location: SEKISUI KYDEX - Holland Job Summary: In this role, the Automation Technology Engineer is primarily responsible for executing activities pertaining to continuous process improvement in safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction and yield using controls and automation. The team member performs all tasks in compliance with company safety rules as well as all IT/OT policies and procedures and prioritizes the success of all company team members and our customers. Long-term planning and near-term project management for design and development of new process technology and processes. Participates in our (24/7) support team for the Operational Technology (OT) Network and anything related to the equipment’s process control systems. Ensures all activities are carried out in compliance with industry and company safety rules and guidelines. Designs and uses technology to improve processes and procedures throughout the company. Maintains consistent focus on how work impacts our customers and company team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Investigates viability of state-of-the-art processes and equipment to improve overall safety, product quality, and operating efficiency. Aids in troubleshooting of electrical and controls components, motors and VFDs. Develops and aids with department processes to support Kaizen initiatives. Aids in the control system design process, hardware procurement, installation, and troubleshooting related to equipment or with the equipment design. Manages individual project budget expenditures and displays proper project and contractor management. Oversees development and ongoing maintenance of OT hardware/software, servers, and networking related to process control. Maintains, updates, and improves process data requirements with ERP and business intelligence (BI) systems. Maintains process control simulation and testing documentation as required. Develops and executes trials and experiments and writes detailed technical reports. Presents technical data and recommendations to management. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Automation related concentration from an accredited university with a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Equivalent experience of at least 6 years in related role progression in lieu of a degree. Engineering math capabilities are required.
