Job Summary:


The Automation Technology Engineer will primarily focus on implementing continuous process enhancements in safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and yield through automation and control systems.

This role involves adhering to company safety protocols and IT/OT policies while prioritizing the success of team members and customers alike.

Responsibilities include long-term strategic planning and short-term project management for the design and development of innovative process technologies.

As part of our 24/7 support team, you will assist with the Operational Technology (OT) Network and all aspects related to process control systems.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and company safety regulations in all activities.
Utilize technology to refine processes and procedures across the organization.
Maintain a consistent focus on the impact of work on customers and team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate the feasibility of cutting-edge processes and equipment to enhance safety, product quality, and operational efficiency.
Assist in diagnosing issues with electrical and control components, motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Contribute to departmental processes that support continuous improvement initiatives.

Participate in the design process for control systems, including hardware procurement, installation, and troubleshooting related to equipment.

Manage project budgets effectively and ensure proper oversight of project and contractor management.
Oversee the development and maintenance of OT hardware/software, servers, and networking related to process control.
Update and enhance process data requirements with ERP and business intelligence systems.
Maintain documentation for process control simulations and testing as needed.
Design and execute trials and experiments, producing detailed technical reports.
Present technical findings and recommendations to management.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
An Associate's degree in Automation or a related field from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Alternatively, equivalent experience of at least 6 years in a related role may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Proficiency in engineering mathematics is required.
