Duties and Responsibilities * Acknowledge and greets patients, customer, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner * Answers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner * Schedules appointments * Gathers patients and insurance information * Verifies and enters patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete * Verifies vision and medical insurance information and enters into EMR * Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and is able to communicate insurance information to the patients * Pulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are complete * Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed * Print and prepare forms for patients visit * Collects and documents all charges, co-pays and payments into EMR * Allocates balances to insurance as needed * Maintains a clean workspace at all times * Practices economy in the use of _me, equipment and supplies * Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager * High school diploma or equivalent * Basic computer literacy * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Strong communication skills (verbal and written) * Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality Physical Demands * This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
