Our client is a technology organization in the Madison area looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, strong attention to detail and organizational skills. This company offers great team culture, strong work-life balance, and offers a remote work environment.

The salary range for this position is $90-120k.

The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop annual business plan for accounting functions including budget.
  • Collect departmental budgets and consolidate into annual company budget.
  • Directs financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and retention activities.
  • Manage period closing process with timely and accurate information.
  • Supervise accounting staff to ensure accounts are properly stated and effectively maintained.
  • Manage financial reporting processes for both current and new reports.
  • Manage acquisition of capital assets.
  • Direct all payroll functions.
  • Manage and annually review relationships with outsourced partners in banking, insurance, etc.
  • Assist in annual audit.
  • Prepare sales tax returns.
  • Ad hoc project as needed.

The Controller will possess the following:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or closely related field required.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Possess analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Internal control process improvement experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
