POSITION SUMMARY:Provide support, social, and acculturation services to eligible immigrant populations Resettled through the agency. Identify needs and plan action steps to ensure successful resettlement.

Salary: $44,000

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION THROUGH 9/30/24

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Learn and comply with applicable requirements of state, local and federal programs.
  • Become proficient in using multiple database platforms.
  • Coordinate all pre arrival requirements including arrangements for clients' arrival in Bridgeport.
  • Schedule and facilitate a monthly Cultural Orientation and Refugee Health Promotion.
  • Comply with detailed documentation requirements and complete in a timely manner case related documentation, paperwork, and reports for federal auditing purposes.
  • Educate clients throughout the R&P period on how to access needed services so that they are able to attain and maintain self-sufficiency once completing the programs.
  • Create new files for each arrival, record case notes for all communications and always maintain files up to date.
  • Make appropriate and necessary referrals for all core services and any other services facilitating community integration.
  • Maintain up to date case notes for all services and interactions.
  • Attend a weekly supervision consultation with the Program Manager and complete a yearly evaluation.
  • When needed help with the clients' apartment setups.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred in social work or related field.
  • Preferably to have a minimum of one year of experience or completed internship in social services.
  • Should be familiar with the local social services community.
  • Superior organizational, communication and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate with other staff and service providers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with client databases
  • Must have reliable car, valid U.S. driver's license and valid auto insurance
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule to accommodate occasional after-hours services
  • Bilingual Spanish required.
